Yard Services
This is our employee, Rafael. Coming from
Portegolpe, he's been working for some of us off and on for some time
and has proven himself to be trustworthy and hardworking. His positive
and jovial demeanor makes him a pleasure to have around. He has a can-
do attitude and doesn't waste time.
Rafael is a skilled gardener and
landscaper but, like many old- school Gunacastecos, can do just about
anything.
The Association hopes to put Rafael to
work full time by hiring him out to local residents. We do this as a
service but also as a way of raising revenue for the association.

We're looking for clients who want
Rafael's services, preferably on a regular, scheduled basis. We promote him
primarily as a yard and garden guy, but other tasks are possible. You
might need him for:
- General yard maintenance
- Lawn mowing
- Putting up/ repairing fences
- Cleaning lots
- Cleaning up stuff your maid can't handle
Part of our service includes one of us coming along to
get him started and make sure he understands what to do, and will
continue to be available to deal with any problems that might arise.
We charge 1500 colones per hour for his services, of
which c500 go to the association. He gets c900 and c100 go to his social
security (it's all legal and on the up and up.)
Lawn mowing requires a little extra for gas and
maintenance.
C1500 may seem a bit steep for a laborer, but consider
two points:
- By getting these services through us you are
supporting the Association and, therefore, the community.
- Rafael gets stuff done. I'll put him up against two
of your average c800/hour guys any day.
